ARTIFACT: This is a late 1980s submarine patch for the USS Richard B. Russell (SSN-687). The Richard B. Russell was launched at Newport News, Virginia on January 12, 1974. She was decommissioned on June 24, 1994. The patch shows a sub passing over the State of Georgia, Senator Russell's home state.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1980s.

SIZE: Approximately 4-13/16" in height and 3-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cotton embroidered in cotton/polyester threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LBCX4/12 SBCX2/13

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The patch shows hardly any wear.
