ARTIFACT: This is a pilot hat badge third issue from the late 1960s for Northwest Airlines. Northwest had begun in 1926 as Northwest Airways but changed its name in 1933 to be allowed to carry air mail. The badge is nicely detailed and there is a red, white and blue bull's-eye design at its center bearing a smaller, detachable wing.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing (wing is detachable from badge).

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airline collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX9/91 LAGEX3/11

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The badge shows hardly any wear.
