ARTIFACT: This is a late 1940s or early Korean War era photo identification badge for the United States Naval Retraining Command at Mare Island at Vallejo, California. This badge was worn by Lieutenant Commander J. M. Murphy, and has the authorized signature of US Marines Captain.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1940s - early Korean War era.

SIZE: Approximately 1-15/16" in height and 3-5/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid, paper, photograph, nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin on bar with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: 0-86301; PAT. NO. on bar.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VAJX12 LFJX9/12

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The badge shows some curvature from moderate wear and minor yellowing; pin is a bit bent but still functions.
