Late 1940s Austrian National Police Enamel Hat Badge by F. Petzl

This is a post-1945, late 1940's enamel hat badge for the Austrian National Police. The maroon and white enameled badge features Austria's Coat of Arms, an eagle wearing a Mural Crown, holding a hammer in one talon, a sickle in the other and a broken chain between them, signifying Austria's freedom from German control after the end of WWII. The shield shaped badge features the maker mark on the reverse which reads: F. PETZL WIEN 15

Circa late 1940's.

Approximately 1-1/4" in height x 1" in width.

Enameled brass, two-piece riveted construction.

Two prongs.
