ARTIFACT: This is a Hitler Youth Award badge. At one time, this badge was painted black but has had all the paint removed somewhere along the way. The badge is numbered on the back 193361 with three wavy lines through it, though we are unsure if the lines were there to cancel out the number or to keep it from being altered (see image of reverse below).

VINTAGE: Circa late 1930s or 1940s.

SIZE: About 1-3/16" in width by 2-1/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Aluminum with copper backing.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin with saddle to attach it to badge.

MARKINGS: 193361 (with wavy lines through it - see image of reverse below); maker's mark followed by: M 1/104.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a large collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBEX05 LGEX07/06

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Very minor surface wear, though it would be a better rating if the original paint were present.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
