ARTIFACT: This is a late 1930s badge for the French sloop/dredger "Impetuous". Built circa 1938, Impetuous left Brest before the arrival of the Germans but ran aground at Porsmilin, Trégana. The badge is by Arthus Bertrand and has a period title on reverse. Brilliantly colored, the badge shows the profile of a frantic person with black hair streaming out behind them. Voici un insigne pour l'aviso-dragueur L'Impetueuse. Construit vers 1938, L'Impétueuse quitté Brest avant l'arrivée des Allemands, mais s'est échoué à Porsmilin, Tregana. Le badge est par Arthus Bertrand et a un titre sur la période de marche arrière. Brillamment coloré, l'insigne indique le profil d'une personne frénétique avec des cheveux noirs flottant derrière eux.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1930s. Circa fin des années 1930.

SIZE: Approximately 1" in height and 1-1/16" in width. 2.5 cm x 2.7 cm.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass, enamel. Laiton plaqué or, émail.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin with saddle. Horizontaux de sécurité de style broches avec selle.
