ARTIFACT: This is a unique 1903 reunion committee badge for an Information volunteer for the Union of Confederate Veterans (UCV), the Confederate answer to the Union's Grand Army of the Republic formed in 1889. The UCV remained active until 1951. The badge is very ornate and has a bright pink silk ribbon. The numbers on the reverse are either period or are later museum acquisition numbers.

VINTAGE: Circa 1903.

SIZE: Approximately 5-1/4" in height and 1-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze, gold-plated insert and painted area, and silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: 71.81 and 71.82; SCHWAAB S & S CO. MILWAUKEE. on back of medallion and back of anchor.
