ARTIFACT: This is a large 1880s Alert Hook & Ladder Company fire badge from Westerly, Rhode Island. The badge is delicately bordered with a small sunburst detail engraved at its top and shows two ladders and an ax at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1880s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/8" height and 1-13/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering, brass pin.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: J. E. POWER BOSTON.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a firefighting collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAHHX11 LCHEX1/11 SBJHX2/15

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge shows some light to medium wear.
