ARTIFACT:
Great, large 1890's – 1900's "Stock" Old West Police five point, ball-tipped badge. The nickel plated nickel badge reads: "POLICE" in the center and shows nice detail along the outer edge.
These badges came out of an old collection put together by a collector from Kansas, now deceased. As the bulk of his collection was Kansas and Colorado, it can be safely assumed that these badges were indeed worn in the Old West of their particular vintage, although I do not know exactly where any were used or collected.
