ARTIFACT: This is a Japanese-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 31st Infantry Regiment. The DI is a polar bear, an insignia chosen for the regiment's original tour of duty in Siberia, and reads PRO PATRIA (for one's country).

VINTAGE: Circa Korean War.

SIZE: 1-7/16" height and 1-1/8" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: One post with clutch-back catch (one post missing).

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX05 LCJX10/10

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): DI has light wear only but is missing one post.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
