ARTIFACT: Interesting 1880's – 1890's Boston, Massachusetts Special Police "pocket" or "carry" badge: pin removed during period of wear and badge filled with lead. The front reads: "BOSTON SPECIAL POLICE" in embossed lettering and an ornately embellished plate beneath shows the number: "3707", the outer edge of the badge shows a lovely detailed border.

VINTAGE: Circa 1880's – 1890's

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4" x 1-1/2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickeled brass, lead

ATTACHMENT: None, pin removed during period of wear and reverse filled with lead.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEX00 LAGEX8/16

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine—Very Fine): The badge shows moderate to heavy wear, some of the nickel plating remains intact, overall fine condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
