ARTIFACT: This is an early 20th century advertising lapel pin for the Gormully & Jeffery Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. G & J gained their fame making Rambler Bicycles in the late 1800's, then Jeffery split off and went on to produce Rambler Motorcycles and Automobiles. After about 1900 G&J started producing Bicycle and Motorcycle Tires, and used the logo shown on this pin. 

VINTAGE: Circa early 20th century, 1900's-1910's.

SIZE: Approximately 3/4" x 7/16".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt Brass with green and black enameling.

ATTACHMENT: Single post with stabilizer pin and screwback.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a collection of transportation artifacts which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Artifact will not be sold until identified. VEX16 LX11/16 SLADEX08/20/19

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine&emdash;Very Fine): The lapel pin shows moderate wear, light fractures in enamel, much of the enamel details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
