ARTIFACT: Classic, iconic, late 1942 – early 1943 USAAF CATF China Air Task Force (became 14th Air Force) large leather jacket patch in multi-piece construction. The patch depicts a yellow winged, wonderfully painted tiger and a five point white star above it with a red circle center, against a background of blue. This example is in unused, superb condition. The CATF replaced the 1st American Volunteer Group (aka "e;Flying Tigers"e;) and was the precursor to the 14th Air Force.

VINTAGE: Circa late '42 – early '43

SIZE: Approximately 4-7/8" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Multi-piece leather, paint, cotton/polyester/silk thread

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF CATF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-EDK-25-16 LACIEX8/16 SACIEX8/16

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The patch is in unused condition, shows minor wear, much of the painted details remain intact, overall excellent condition.
