ARTIFACT: Great WWII USS Perch SS-313 submarine model in wood and nickeled brass, made in Australia with hand engraved: "USS PERCH SS 313" on the bow. In March of 1945 the USS Perch left Fremantle carrying eleven Australians specially trained in commando warfare, shortly after she was only able to drop off four of the eleven Australians before she was engaged in heavy warfare and sank, there were only two survivors, it is believed the missing were captured by the Japanese.

VINTAGE: Circa early WWII

SIZE: Approximately 9 ½" x 2"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wood, nickeled brass, and felt.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII USN collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJJX15 LCDEX2/15 SLCEEX4/15

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The submarine model shows little wear, nearly all the nickel plating remains bright and intact.
