ARTIFACT: Great WWI Canadian Expeditionary Forces (CEF) 228th Northern Fusiliers Overseas Battalion match safe. The center shows a bomb-like emblem with a maple leaf and the number: "228" in the center and reads: "NORTHERN FUSILIERS OVERSEAS CANADA". The match safe features a push button closure and hinged lid.

VINTAGE: Circa WWI

SIZE: Approximately 2-5/16" x 1-5/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped steel

ATTACHMENT: Push button closure, hinged lid

MARKINGS: "PAT JULY 28.12"
