ARTIFACT: This is a jacket patch for the United States Navy bomber squadron VB-4. Originally the VB-4 in 1939, the squadron changed to the VS-41 and VB-41 before changing back to the VB-4. This squadron served on the USS Ranger and USS Essex as well as the USS Bunker Hill during World War II. The patch shows a jauntily tipped top hat.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 5-1/4" diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: White felt patch embroidered in black and white cotton threads and chenille with muslin backing.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): Patch has some small spots where felt is gone and very slight discoloration.
