ARTIFACT:
This is an old circa 1930s advertising display for Gillette brand razor blades. Gillette is a Boston, Massachusetts company that has been producing men's personal care products since 1904. The case is in wood, steel and glass, and would have been used in department stores, men's shops and pharmacies. The front glass cover drops down, giving access to six partitions where razor blades would have been stocked. The product pricing of the era is recorded on the cover.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1930s.
SIZE:
Approximately 13-1/2" in height and 17-1/2" in width and 2-1/4" in depth.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Wood, steel, glass.
ATTACHMENT:
Hingeing cover, pads on reverse and between glass cover and wood.
