ARTIFACT:
This is a pair of vintage mid-late 1960s private purchase pilot sunglasses Type FG-58L by American Optical (A.O.). These glasses come in their original leather case with stitched details. The glasses have yellow (gold-plated frames) and smoke gray lenses. The arm ends are coated in clear plastic for comfort.
VINTAGE:
Circa mid-late 1960s.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-7/8" in height (lens only) and 5-1/4" in width (from edge of lens to edge of lens across front).
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gold-plated frame, glass, plastic, leather.
ATTACHMENT:
Snap on case.
MARKINGS:
5 ½ AO (within shield) mark AMERICNA OPTICAL on glasses; on case.
ITEM NOTES:

8 (Excellent-): The glasses are in excellent condition; small spot of wear on case snap and a few spots of moderate to heavy wear inside case.
