ARTIFACT: This is a Great Mid-Late 1950's United State Submarine Tunny SSG 282 Small  Penguin Lighter. The USS Tunny (SS/SSG/APSS/LPSS-282) was a Gato-class submarine which saw service in World War II and in the Vietnam War. Tunny received nine battle stars and two Presidential Unit Citations for her World War II service and five battle stars for her operations during the Vietnam War.

VINTAGE: Circa Mid-Late 1950's

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/8" x 1-3/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chrome-plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Hinged lid

MARKINGS: HIGH QUALITY LIGHTER "PENGUIN" NO 19531 JAPAN

CONDITION: 7+ (Fine - Very Fine): The lighter shows minor to moderate wear, overall very fine condition.
