ARTIFACT: Great, early WWII United States Coast Guard Auxiliary hat badge in gilt and enameled silver. Cool deco (starless) shield at center and a surrounding blue enamel ring reads: "U.S. COAST GUARD AUXILIARY". Sadly, no maker mark on the reverse and interesting small screwbacks instead of a large central one, as is typically seen. The anomaly of the right anchor ring occurred during manufacture and does not detract much.

VINTAGE: Circa early WWII

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" x 2-3/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped, gilt, enameled silver

ATTACHMENT: Double posts with screwbacks

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Coast Guard collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEZ16 LGEX6/16

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The hat badge shows minor to moderate wear, the anomaly of the right anchor ring is from the manufacturing process and does not detract much, much of the plated and enamel details remain intact.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
