ARTIFACT:
This is a great circa 1910s Phillips' Milk of Magnesia advertising letter opener with a magnifier at one end. Charles Henry Philiips, a British native who moved to Stamford, Connecticut, produced his famous elixir starting in 1885. The opener is in nickel-plated brass and was made in England. One side reads PHILLIPS and the other reads "Milk of Magnesia" Phospho-Muriate of Quinine, Comp.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1910s.
SIZE:
Approximately 4-3/4" in length and 1-1/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Nickel-plated brass, glass.
ATTACHMENT:
Loop at one end.
MARKINGS:
Made in England.
