ARTIFACT: Great 1960's South River, New Jersey Fire Department Chaplain Grouping from Reliable Hook & Ladder Co. The grouping includes the Chaplain's helmet, presentation badge, photos, car badge, and high school diploma. The presentation badge is contained within a supple black leather wallet with a snap closure. The 10K gold fill badge features a blue enameled circle with a white enameled cross in the center and surrounding it reads: "CHAPLAIN RELIABLE HOOK & LADDER CO." and the reverse reads: "REV. TED GODLEWSKI 1965 SOUTH RIVER, N. J.". The helmet is white with a leather hat badge on the front that reads: "CHAPLAIN RHL CO." and shows a gold colored cross in the center. The inside of the helmet has three tags displaying the maker's mark, patent numbers, helmet specifications, and size. The high school diploma is named to: "THADDEUS WALTER GODLEWSKI" and is dated June 9th, 1954. The front reads: "TRENTON CATHOLIC BOYS' H. S. TRENTON, N. J.".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold filled, chromed brass, enamel, leather, hard plastic, felt, rope, elastic, paper, silk, steel, paint.

ATTACHMENT: Helmet: chin strap; Badge: Vertical pin with drop in swivel locking catch; Frames: holes for hanging and kick stand; Wallet: snap closure, holes for badge attachment.

J.", "CAIRNS & BROTHER, INC. ADJUSTABLE LINING LARGE 7 ??" TO 7 ?? - SMALL 6 ?? TO 7 ?? -TO ADJUST- "Loosen drawstring in the top of the lining. Turn the lining out. Pull the plastic straps apart at the buttons in the rear of the helmet and replace in new holes. Holes are one size apart. Replace the liner and retie drawstring", "MADE IN THE U. S. A. CAIRNS & BRO. CLIFTON, N. J." Handwriting on tag reads: "WHITE 47591adj", "7 ??"

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent - Overall): The grouping shows overall minor to moderate use/wear, leather is supple, nearly all the gold fill and enamel details remain fully intact.
