ARTIFACT: This is a Great 1930's USN Submarine Officer Dolphins by NANCO in Gilt Sterling, with Original Owner's Initials: R. W. E. & Submarine: S-42 ENGRAVED on Bow Planes. Early in WWII the S-42 Sank a Japanese Minelayer, Okinoshima, on her first War Patrol, and on her second War Patrol, an unknown Destroyer, was hit, but a confirmation of sinking was unable to be performed.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930's.

SIZE: Approximately 2-7/8" in length and 7/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt Sterling.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.

MARKINGS: "R. W. E. S-42"

CONDITION:  7+ (Very Fine+): The dolphins shows moderate wear and tarnish on obverse, some of the gilt details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
