ARTIFACT: Great 1920's vintage painted cast iron elephant mechanical cigarette dispenser, Type IV without base or tray. The elephant, trunk raised in a walking stride, features a hinged-lid as the base of the seat and the interior of the seat is the storage compartment for cigarettes. To dispense, lift the elephant's tail and a cigarette will drop down under the elephant's belly.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920's.

SIZE: Approximately 6" in length x 3-3/4" in width x 5-1/2" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted cast iron & tin.

ATTACHMENT: N/A.

MARKINGS: "1B" on side of seat and "PAT PEND" on inside top of lid.

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Elephant shows minor to moderate wear and oxidation, much of the painted detail remains intact.
