ARTIFACT:

This is a Gorgeous World War I French M1917 Naval Pilot Badge Private Purchase Pin Back for wearing by USN Pilot. Heavy Lead filled Gilt and Silvered Stamped -Brass. Early locking catch.
This came into the collector over 25 years ago along with a Mess Dress size USN Pilot wing. Unfortunately, there was no name associated with the badges.

VINTAGE: World War I.

SIZE: Approximately: 1-5/8" in height x 2-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Heavy Lead filled Gilt and Silvered Stamped -Brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in Early locking catch.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a French militaria collection which we will listing more of over the next few months. CON-RLB-VBJJV04/98-24 LBCGEX10/29/24

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge shows minor to moderate wear, and much of the gilt detail remains intact and silver is tarnishing. Overall, it is in very fine condition.
