ARTIFACT: Gorgeous, early WWII Home Front War Worker enameled ID badge from the Columbus, Ohio General Depot by Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark N.J. The badge is shield shaped, features red, white, and blue enamel, and reads: "COLUMBUS GENERAL DEPOT". This example is in near mint condition with a very low #: "9" – the design is obviously based on an older United Airlines Ground Crew badge.

VINTAGE: Circa early WWII

SIZE: Approximately 1-9/16" x 1-3/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enamel, nickel, brass

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in locking swivel catch

MARKINGS: "W&H CO."

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Home Front War Worker collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDJX16 LADEX10/16

CONDITION: 9 (Excellent—Near Mint): The badge shows minor wear, the plating and enameled details remain fully intact, overall near mint condition.
