ARTIFACT: This is gorgeous circa 1917 United States Air Service Junior Military Aviator or Observer Sweetheart Pin. It has an iconic USAS half wing riveted onto a gilt bronze Signal Corps Insignia, since the Air Service was part of the Signal Corps at that time. 

VINTAGE: Circa 1917.

SIZE: Approximately 1" in width x 1-1/8" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold filled bronze, sterling silver wing.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with C-type catch.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Sweetheart collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEJX16 LGHEX02/18

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Little to light wear, the wing has patinated beautifully.
