ARTIFACT:
This is a fabulous group of OSS (Office of Strategic Services) insignia, all from one OSS veteran whose name has since been lost to time. All four insignia are extremely rare, especially the top two pieces. These two insignia go together, the bottom being the Commando insignia and the tab being that of the 3rd Contingent Operational Group, an OSS unit. This particular set is Yugoslavian made. The wing with the SF in the center is the Special Force sleeve wing worn by the OSS and a few other elite units in the ETO (European Theater of Operations). The wing in bullion at the bottom is that of the British SAS (Special Air Service). There is another Special Force wing for sale separately (please see link at bottom of page for information).

3 COG arc: 4" x 1-1/4"; commando insignia: 2-5/8" in diameter; SF wing: 4-3/16" x 1-1/4"; bullion wing: 3" x 1-3/8".
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
3 COG arc: woven wool embroidered in cotton/silk threads, muslin backing; commando insignia: wool felt embroidered in cotton/silk threads, muslin backing; SF wing: wool felt on wool felt, embroidered in cotton/silk threads, muslin backing; bullion wing: wool felt embroidered in bullion threads.

CONDITION:
8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The items are in various conditions but overall are in excellent condition. There is some moderate wear to the edge of the 3 COG arc and some small areas of light tarnish to the bullion.
