ARTIFACT: This is a fabulous painting by Jack D. Hunter, a World War II veteran famous for penning the 1964 novel "The Blue Max". Serving in counter-intelligence because of blindness to the colors red and green, Hunter carried out an operation that secured the arrest of over 1,000 Nazis and earned him the Bronze Star. The scene captured in the painting is a P-51 Mustang ready to seal the fate of a German ME 109.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 20-1/2" in height by 25" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Paper, glass, wood, metal.

ATTACHMENT: Wire, two eye hooks.

MARKINGS: HUNTER; 2 (with other writing on reverse).

ITEM NOTES: This is from a paintings and prints collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VGEJX08 LAEGEX11/11

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The painting is in excellent condition with some small spots of light wear to the frame only.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
