ARTIFACT: Extremely rare WWII United States Navy Chief Petty Officer hat badge. This example is Australian made by K.G. Luke in Melbourne and is the only one I, or any of the advanced collectors I checked with have seen. The hat badge is an anchor and rope with the letters: "USN" in the center.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in height x 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickeled and gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical "Y" Commonwealth style kick pin with "C" type catch.

MARKINGS: "K. G. LUKE MELBOURNE"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USN collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MCJX16 LDGEX9/16 SDCJX09/20

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The CPO hat badge shows moderate wear, verdigris, and patina on the reverse, some of the plating details remain, overall excellent condition.
