ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare member lapel pin for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the United States' wartime intelligence agency. The OSS operated from June 13, 1942 until September 20, 1945 and was replaced two years later by the Central Intelligence Agency. The pin is by A. E. Company of Utica, New York.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1/2" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: A. E. CO. UTICA N.Y. PAT number.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The pin has some small spots of light wear.
