ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare wing for the Jordanian Pilot of the King's Flight, Royal Pilot of the King of Jordan, worn by only a handful of pilots qualified as Royal Pilots. These pilots are not considered civilian, and are not really military, but Royal: they are the King's own personal pilots. The bullion wing's colors are those of the nation of Jordan and the crown shown is that of the rulers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan/Jordan. This wing dates from the period of King Abdullah I or King Tulal, or perhaps early on during King Hussein's Rule (circa early 1950). This wing was identified by Colin Fuller: many thanks!

VINTAGE: Circa early 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-13/16" in height and 4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brushed wool felt embroidered in bullion and silk/cotton threads with mesh cotton backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a foreign militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VHJX10 LABJJX11/12

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The wing has light wear and a moderate tarnish on bullion.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
