ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare 1942 Irish Cavalry Corps officer's collar badge in hallmarked silver. Originally born as the Armoured Car Corps in 1922, the group was renamed the Cavalry Corps in 1934. The bottom of the badge reads An C??r Marcraide (An C??r Marcra translates to Cavalry Corps). The badge shows a breastplate of armor with a sword and a rifle crossed behind it.

VINTAGE: Circa 1942.

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/16" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal British kick (Y) pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: L A W and three marks; w/a scratched on reverse.
