This is an extremely rare circa 1930s officer shoulder patch for the United States Army 45th Infantry Division Š the only one I've seen! Originally a part of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, the 45th (also known as "Thunderbird) entered the war in 1941. This handsome old red velvet patch shows a golden bullion swastika at center. It was recently found at an old antiques dealer in Arizona.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 3-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Velvet embroidered in gold bullion threads, partial mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDJJX13 LHIEX1/13 SLHIEX4/13 SHJJX3/14

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The patch has some small spots of light wear, with a moderate tarnish and minor oxidation to the bullion.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
