The Horse Marines in China served from 1909 until 1938, and functioned as guards for the American Embassy as well as the International Settlement in Peking. The rosette has an eagle globe and anchor at its center: the globe is quite convex and shows both longitude and latitude lines.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s.

SIZE: Approximately 1" in depth and 1-3/4" width in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Blackened copper/bronze with braised brass loop on reverse.

ATTACHMENT: Braised brass loop.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Marine Corps collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAGEX13 LFGE3/13 SFGEX06/20

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The rosette shows areas of light to medium wear and tarnish.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
