ARTIFACT: This is a United States Army Air Forces 498th Bomb Squadron, 345th Bomb Group, 5th Air Force jacket patch. The patch is the first design used by the squadron, and was possibly made in Australia early WWII period.

VINTAGE: Early WWII, 1942 or early 1943.

SIZE: about 5-1/2" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: To be sewn onto flight clothing.
