ARTIFACT:

What we have here is a beautiful, WWII period Los Angeles County California Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff Hat Badge in STERLING SILVER by KAAG. The Auxiliary had NO CHEST BADGE, this was the ONLY BADGE THEY WORE! Wartime shortages of 1943 caused this badge to be produced in Sterling Silver. Some Badge Maker References show KAAG as manufacturing Badges from 1946 to 1974, but this badge pushes that start date to at least 1943!

A beautiful piece of Los Angeles County History, and WWII History, in gilt and enameled Sterling Silver. This badge is nearly identical to the one in the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office Historical Collection pictured on their web site.

VINTAGE: World War II.

SIZE: Approximately: 1-3/4" in height x 3-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt and Enameled Sterling Silver.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing with two pins.

MARKINGS: KAAG STERLING

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and lawman enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCJJV24 LABGEX11/10/24

CONDITION:  8+ (Excellent): The badge shows minor wear and enamel detail remains intact. Overall, it is in excellent condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
