ARTIFACT:

This is an Extremely Rare World War II Chiang Kai Shek Personal Chop Bronze Medal Safe Conduct Pass.

Collecting AVG and CBI over the years, I have owned a couple x000D of these, but they are extremely rare, and this is the nicest condition one x000D that I have had to offer.

 As I understand it, and there is little information out x000D there, these were given out to OSS and Intelligence operatives, and Officers x000D who might find themselves in unknown places, to be used as a "Safe Conduct x000D Pass", on par with a silk blood chit, but with a LOT more clout, since the x000D symbol at center is actually Generalissimo Chiang Kai Shek's personal Chop.

 This is beautifully made by an unknown company in China, x000D marked WASC. on the edge. The piece is constructed of 2 heavily die-struck x000D pieces of bronze, braised together at high heat, then finished with a lovely x000D chocolate brown patina and lacquered.

 On one side reads GENERALISSIMO, and on the other, VICTORY.

 This is a wonderful piece of clandestine history from the x000D dark days of WWII, used deep in Japanese Occupied China behind the lines.

Approximately 2" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Bronze. The piece is constructed of 2 heavily die-struck pieces of bronze, braised together at high heat, then finished.
