ARTIFACT: This is a World War I United States Housing Corporation (USHC) lapel pin. The pin shows an eagle at center with a blue enameled border reading WAR SERVICE USHC.

The USHC was a federal agency that existed during World War I. It was part of the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Industrial Housing and Transportation. Its purpose was to provide housing for wartime production workers near arsenals and shipyards. This is the only insignia that I have ever seen from this Government Agency.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing and one stabilization post.

MARKINGS: JOHN FRICK JEWELRY COMPANY N.Y.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months.  MDX99 LDJX10/10 SLAAEX03/20 SAJJX09/21

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
