ARTIFACT: This great badge was made for a tour to Mexico City on November 20th, 1887, when 4 Railroads joined force to bring the trip to fruition. The C. & A. ( Chicago & Alton Railroad ), the A, T., & S. F. ( Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe ), Mex. Cent. ( Mexican Central Railway ), and Mex. Ry. (Mexican Railway) are all represent on this wonderful badge, worn no doubt by both the travelers, and the Railroad employees on the trip. 

The badge is made of stamped nickel, with a nickel plated brass safety pin type pin, and a hand-cut sheet nickel "saddle" for extra support of the pin. 

VINTAGE: Circa 1887.

SIZE: Approximately 2-7/8” in length x 1-1/8” in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped nickel, with a nickel plated brass pin.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin, and a hand-cut sheet nickel “saddle” for extra support of the pin.

Condition: 7+ (Very Fine +). Light wear and patina, more so on the back.
