ARTIFACT:
Extremely rare, early WWII American Volunteer Group Flying Tigers, variant "AVG" collar insignia, Indian made in silver.
This gorgeous and extremely rare pair of AVG collar insignia was actually one of two sets of this insignia that were acquired by me 10+ years ago when I purchased many effects of AVG HQ Operations Clerk Edward H. Seavey, who continued on with the USAAF after his service with the Flying Tigers, eventually becoming a pilot. I sold this second set to another collector to help defer some of the costs of the grouping, and now he has given these back to me to sell for him on consignment. I have only seen a handful of these Silver, Indian-made AVG collar insignia, making them even more rare than the brass examples.
