ARTIFACT: Extremely rare circa 1944 1st BN Parachutiste de Choc, French Forces of the Interior (Free French) Badge by Berchot, numbered XVIII. In the aftermath of the Second World War, an "action service" was created by Jacques Morlane. It grouped veterans of the Second World War having served in the Bataillon de Choc of 1936, in the 1st Bataillon de Choc (founded in 1943).

VINTAGE: Circa 1944

SIZE: 1-1/4" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver plated brass and enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: "L. JANVIER - L. BERCHOT ET CIE PARIS" on disc backing. 

XVIII on badge reverse.

CONDITION: 9- (Excellent+): Light wear, exceptional condition, all enamel intact.
