ARTIFACT: This beautiful, large Flying Tigers banner is in excellent condition. Although it does not state 3rd Squadron on it, the 3rd, or "Hell's Angels", Squadron was the only squadron to fight side by side with the Royal Air Force, so the inclusion of the RAF insignia on this banner points to it originating with a member of the 3rd Squadron.

This banner most likely dates to either mid-December 1941, before the fall of Rangoon, or early January 1942 when the 3rd Arrived in China.

The banner has a lovely rustic rendition of the American Volunteer Group Flying Tiger "in the V" at center, with a US Aircraft Marking symbol at bottom center, a Chinese Sun at top right, and the RAF emblem at top left. The colors are vibrant and the large size of the banner makes it a real center piece for any WWII Allied Aviation Collection, or of course, for a Flying Tigers Collection.
Artifacts that belonged to members of the original Flying Tigers are extremely hard to acquire and rarely come up for sale. Often collectors lucky enough to acquire anything from the AVG will hold onto the pieces for their entire lifetime and families rarely let these artifacts go if they are lucky enough to still possess them. Don't miss this chance to own a true piece of WWII Aviation History.
