ARTIFACT: This is an Extremely Rare circa 1900 United States Life Saving Service USLSS District 5 Surfman Uniform Patches District 5 covers Cape Henlopen down to Cape Charles.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900.

SIZE: Approximately No 5 patch: 2-3/4" in height x 2-1/8" in width. Life Saving Service patch: 2-3/4" in height x 2-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embroidered on wool felt with gauze backing with Cotton & Silk thread.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn on.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Life Saving Service collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MIJM23 LABGEX09/02/23 SABGEX09/03/23

CONDITION: 9- (Excellent+): The patch shows removed from the uniform and little to minor wear. Overall, it is in excellent condition.
