ARTIFACT: This is an Extremely Rare 1880's - 1890's New York City Workhouse Orderly Badge #42 by S.A. French. From the Blackwell's Island Work House. Not Maker Marked, But most likely made by Old New York Maker: S.A. French.

VINTAGE: 1880's - 1890's.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/16" in height x 1-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Heavy Nickel-Plated Nickel with Jewelers Black.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical kick pin with Tube type catch.

MARKINGS: N/A.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent): The badge shows minor wear, and nice patina.
