ARTIFACT:

This is a gorgeous WWI M1914 Imperial Prussian Army Observer Badge, manufactured circa 1917. This badge, produced by the "Tiffany" of Germany: Godet, was made of later war silver plated tombak. The pin bears the non-silver Godet Maltese Cross marking, and has beautiful riveted construction.
This badge is in exquisite condition, and would be hard to upgrade from, with seemingly 99% of its original plating intact, sporting a lovely moderate patina. The badge shows almost no wear.

This badge is among 4 of our current offerings that were chosen by OVMS to be on the back cover of this year's MAX program.

VINTAGE: World War I, circa 1917.

SIZE: Approximately 2-7/8" in height x 1-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Central piece is enameled Silvered brass, main badge & findings are Silver Plated Tombak,

ATTACHMENT: Vertical T-style pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: Godet Maltese Cross marking on the Pin.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWI Prussian medal collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months.  CON-RLB-VGJJX03/07 LCCGEX04/04/23 SCCGEX05/02/23
