ARTIFACT: Exquisite mid-19th century Katana Menuki made into a brooch, circa 1900. Menuki are the ornaments that are found under the handle wrap on the katana and they define the character of the sword and can tie the owner to the sword.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900's

SIZE: Approximately 3-2/8" in width x1/2" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt bronze.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical "T" style pin with drop in locking clasp.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Japanese militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-DMB-20-14 LCIEX10/14

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): Brooch shows slight wear, exceptional amount of the gilt remains.
