ARTIFACT:
Exquisite late 19th century Patek Philippe Box & Serial #'d paperwork for 18K gold Minute Repeater (31 jewel) #174611. Original owners initials, "H.M" on lid. Patek Philippe is known for making ultra-luxurious timepieces with decadent, complex movement, the timepieces are well-known to aficionados as one of the most prestigious makers of mainstream watches. Patek Philippe clientele has included Christian IX and Princess Louise of Denmark (the king and queen of Denmark), Victor Emmanuel III of Italy (king of Italy and Duke of Savoy), Hussein Kamel (Sultan of Egypt from 1914 to 1918). The interior silk-printed upper lining reads: "MANUFACTURE D'HORLOGERIE - PATEK, PHILIPPE & CO. - GENEVE - GRAND PRIX A PARIS 1889 - MEMBRE DU JURY - PARIS 1900", the upper lid pulls open to reveal the original paperwork with watch description and serial number (see photo), the seat where the Minute Repeater once was also lifts to reveal original parts for repair (see photo).
