ARTIFACT: This is an early World War II aviator kit bag Type AN6505-1 used by both United States Army Air Forces and the United States Navy airmen. The bag is in heavy cotton duck with cotton webbing. The original owner wrote his name on one of the handle straps: H. STERN. The bag has a early Talon zippers and there is a small lock on one zipper but the key has been lost. There are several interior pockets.

VINTAGE: Circa early World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 21-1/2" in length and 18" in height (not including handles with 6-1/2" drop), 11" in width across bottom.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Heavy cotton duck with cotton webbing.

ATTACHMENT: Zipper, snaps on flap that goes over zipper, handles.

MARKINGS: H. STERN written on handle strap; AVIATOR'S KIT BAG AN6505-A PROPERTY U.S. GOVERNMENT; TALON and on zipper pulls; LARK on lock.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII United States Navy gear collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VBJX13 LABEX12/13 SeABEX2/15

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The bag has seen some moderate wear with scattered small rust spots and fading but has no holes.
