ARTIFACT: This is an early Vietnam War era Marksman lighter for the United States Navy USS Shelton destroyer (DD-790), a ship named for an Ensign Shelton who died in the Battle of Midway. The front of the lighter has a brightly enameled ship's crest.

VINTAGE: Circa early Vietnam War.

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/8" height and 1-1/4" width and 3/8" thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chrome-plated with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Hinge.

MARKINGS: MARKSMAN TRADEMARK NUMBER XP-1508 (?) DESIGN JAPAN.

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The lighter shows some light abrasions and very small spots of pitting on front and on reverse, along with small rust spots.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
